Chelsea Humiliate Everton 6-0 in Dominant Display
Perfect hat-trick from Cole Palmer sparks Blues to victory
Gilchrist and Jackson also on target in emphatic win
Chelsea underlined their title credentials with a devastating 6-0 rout of Everton at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening. The Blues were in complete control throughout, with Cole Palmer stealing the show with a stunning performance.
Palmer opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a clinical finish from the edge of the area. He doubled his tally just five minutes later with a sublime free-kick that left Jordan Pickford rooted to the spot.
Nicolas Jackson made it 3-0 in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from the visitors. Alfie Gilchrist then got in on the act with a powerful header from a corner in the 40th minute.
Palmer completed his hat-trick with a delightful chip over Pickford in the 55th minute. He then added his fourth in the 65th minute, finishing off a superb move involving Kai Havertz and Mason Mount.
Chelsea's victory moves them into second place in the Premier League, just three points behind leaders Arsenal. Everton, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone and could face an uphill battle to avoid the drop.
